Following the recent success of the Resident Evil 2 Remake this news should be no surprise. Especially as Capcom have hinted in the past about doing a Resident Evil 3 remake. Numerous rumours are now abound but nothing has ever been confirmed.
However, recently producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi confirmed that a game may certainly be in the works.
Appealing to fan demand is their main aim after all. So after the wide success from the previous release, Resident Evil 2 Remake, they would be foolish not to miss an opportunity like this.
Hirabayashi also explained the simplicity behind producing a remake of Resident Evil 3 less than a year ago. Especially as both games contain the same elements and geographical layout.
As we all know, the Resident Evil 2 Remake was not an exact replica of the original. It featured some additional gameplay upgrades such as the ability to use throwables and sub/weapons whenever you want, amongst many others.
For now we can only but speculate, as its sure in the very early stages (if any any stages at all). But here’s hoping we will be making a trip to Raccoon City again very soon. Then we can get back to doing what we do best, running for our lives!
