A group of scientists at MIT has invented a device that can turn Wi-Fi signals into electricity and can potentially do away with the need of batteries. The device was powered solely through the Wi-Fi waves passing through it.

With advancements in the field of wireless and connectivity, this was bound to happen but is still an astounding discovery. The machine is a 2-D device that has a ‘rectenna’ that can convert waves into electricity using a cutting-edge semiconductor. The team has claimed that through this tech a wide array of electronics can be powered making life easier.
