Stupendous Staff

Having run countless events myself I am more than aware that having the right people running them is one of the most important things. Now this is all fine and dandy for the smaller community managed events but what about the really big ones like Play Manchester, they usually use loads of agency staff right?

Wrong! The Play team is made up solely of gamers catering for gamers with one and only Andy Brown at the helm who has been around since the very beginning and familiar to many through his Console Passion store. So if you need any help or advice the best people are there to turn to!

Retro Revivals

One of the biggest reasons for visiting the Play events for many is to relive the days of old and play on some of those classic computers and consoles. Play Manchester will feature the lot from the big name favourites such as Atari, Nintendo, Sega, Sinclair and Commodore to really obscure systems like the Casio Loopy and FM Towns Marty.

If you fancy yourself as a bit of an expert there will also be a host of competitions and tournaments you can compete in over the weekend too and win yourself some really fantastic prizes!

Modern Marvels

Just to show Play aren’t stuck in the past they will also have all the latest machine available too including PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and Mobile. Over the years really big names have been in attendance at Play Manchester including EA, Konami, Activision and UbiSoft.

If the big franchises put you off then don’t worry because there will also be a host of interesting and diverse indie studios showing off their latest games too and looking for input on them from people like you!

Terrific Talks

Another one of the things that makes Play Manchester really special is the range of talks from industry legends. These lift the lid on the development of famous games, tell you the stories you were never meant to hear and let you get involved with a Q&A session at the end.

Among this year’s must see guests are the creator of Jet Set Willy and Manic Miner, the enigma that is Matthew Smith, and Hugo Myatt, A.K.A. Treguard from the hugely popular TV series of our youth Knightmare!
